What is a Service-disabled Veteran?
A Service-disabled Veteran is a veteran with a service-connected
disability, which, in most instances, has forced the service member
to be medically separated from the military. The disability typically
results from an injury or illness incurred in the line of duty while
serving in the U.S. military.
The Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development
Act
Since the passage of The Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small
Business Development Act of 1999, Service-Disabled Veteran- Owned
Small Businesses have played a critical role in providing high-quality
contract services to the federal government.
This act, which sets aside three percent of all government contracts
for SDVOBs, is a tremendous commitment to disabled military veterans
who have given so much to protect and defend the United
States.
